Overwatch 2 Season 2 release date and Ramattra abilities PCGamesN Nov 15, 2022 10:57 ET Time flies when you're having fun, and the Overwatch 2 Season 2 release date is sooner than you might think. With it, we can expect a new battle pass, map, and plenty of cosmetic skins to spend your hard-earned Overwatch coins on. Season 2 also coincides with the debut of the latest Overwatch 2 tank hero, Ramattra. Overwatch 2 got off to a bumpy start, but the has quickly found its footing, with the welcome debut of , , and to mark the sequel's release. However, the big question is whether or not Blizzard can sustain this momentum for a second season. Here's everything we know about Overwatch 2 Season 2 ahead of its upcoming release date, including a full breakdown of Ramattra's abilities.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 release date

Overwatch 2 Season 2 is due to arrive on December 6, 2022. Overwatch 2's new seasonal model refreshes every nine weeks, so unless Blizzard deviates from this schedule, we can expect Season 2 to continue until February 7, 2023. Of course, a new season means a new – so if you're still gunning for that coveted Cyber Demon Genji mythic skin, your time is running out. As in Season 1, Overwatch 2 Season 2's battle pass promises a bevy of new cosmetics, including emblems, voice lines, and weapon charms. A brand new is also set to appear as part of the Season 2 update, though we know very little about it aside from that Ramattra is "connected to this map". The Overwatch 2 Season 2 update promises bags of content, but if you're eager to get stuck into the upcoming PvE mode, we're afraid you're going to have to wait a little while longer. As per Blizzard's , we won't be seeing a dedicated PvE mode until 2023.

Overwatch 2 Ramattra abilities

We can also expect a new (or old) face in Overwatch 2 Season 2. During the Overwatch League grand finals, lead hero designer Alec Dawson and art director Dion Rogers unveiled the 's new tank hero, . The pragmatic Omnic leader was first teased during the 2019 Storm Rising event, and his combination of defensive Omnic form and aggressive Nemesis form make him a remarkably flexible tank hero. Here is a full breakdown of Ramattra's abilities.

Void Accelerator Omnic Form

Ramattra's primary fire unleashes a projectile that advances in a certain shape, while his secondary fire creates a barrier at the target location.

Vortex of Gluttony

Ramattra's Vortex of Gluttony ability launches nano spheres which explode on contact with the ground, generating a force field. Any enemies within the force field's area of effect are pulled to the ground, and their movement speed is reduced.

Chastisement Nemesis Form

The standout of Ramattra's kit is his ability to transform into Nemesis for an approximate duration of eight seconds, increasing his total health from 450 to 600. While in Nemesis form, Ramattra's primary fire causes him to attack with his fists forward, generating a shockwave that penetrates enemies directly ahead of him. His secondary fire reduces the movement speed of enemies, and reduces any damage received from the front.

Destruction Ultimate

Ramattra's ult automatically transforms him into Nemesis when activated. It also generates an energy zone, dealing continuous damage to all enemies within it. The energy zone's duration is dependent on dealing damage to enemies within it, and it will remain on the battlefield for as long as its maintained in this fashion. Ramattra is locked behind the Overwatch 2 season 2 battle pass, so be prepared to grind to the lofty heights of Tier 55 if you've got your heart set on maining him. Of course, you can also purchase the premium battle pass for immediate access to him, but that would also require forking over 1,000 Overwatch coins.
