The code - dumped on 4chan - was old and outdated, and Valve was soon able to issue a pair of statements saying it had detected no threat to either of its games. But where had this source code come from, and why was it being spread online now? According to Valve, this code was not only several years old, it had also been leaked before. We have reviewed the leaked code and believe it to be a reposting of a limited CS:GO engine code depot released to partners in late 2017, and originally leaked in 2018. Curiously, the source code was not the only thing leaked. Also included was snippets of private communication from Valve fan Tyler MicVicker, creator of the Valve News Network site and various modding projects. These logs lay out Vicker's conversation with an anonymous Valve source, which Vicker saved and shared among close friends. When all of the above leaked, Vicker was quick to distance himself from being responsible and able to immediately point to who was to blame, and why. It all boils down to a former friend and colleague who worked on Lever Softworks, a team who ran a community server for Valve games that was also working on a recreation of cancelled project F-Stop, an unreleased Portal prequel. This friend was racist and transphobic, McVicker claims, and was this week removed from the group while McVicker was transferring ownership to someone else. In a Twitch livestream last night, McVicker named this person as "Maxx", and said the leak had been a retaliation by this person for being kicked from the group, with the chat logs being included to ensure McVicker was implicated. Speaking to me today, McVicker said Maxx's behaviour was "widely known" - and that the full picture had been made clear to Valve today. McVicker's account is backed up by fellow project member Jaycie Erysdren, who held her own Q&amp;A on Twitter last night. We've contacted Valve to hear what its next steps will be. It follows a cache of documents posted earlier this week which revealed details on more imminently-available games due within the next few months, as well as source code and plans for handling relationships with streamers. Nine items of employee personal data were also included. As before, this new information comes from a ransomware attack which breached Capcom's servers and obtained an enormous amount of sensitive information. Capcom has acknowledged the attack and is now working with law enforcement agencies. The widely-reported list of upcoming games includes numerous unannounced projects, and a Resident Evil game in some form or another each year until 2024. Capcom fans have excitedly pointed to a Dragon's Dogma sequel being on the release list, as well as plans for remakes of classic games such as Final Fight and Power Stone. And, less surprisingly, there's mention of Street Fighter 6. It's worth remembering this list may already be outdated (it comes from a document dated to earlier this year), and that future game projects reliably change/get delayed/disappear entirely long before they're ever ready to be announced to the public. Regardless, it's another disastrous moment for Capcom and an incredibly worrying sight for current and former employees who remain concerned their own personal details might be posted online next. Capcom previously said it feared up to 350,000 items of personal information could be held by the ransomware attackers, including addresses, phone numbers, birth dates and photos. The company has said it is now "contacting individuals whose information it has verified to have been compromised to explain the background of this incident and current situation", though an IGN report last night included comments from staff at one former studio - Capcom Vancouver - who believed their details are at risk but who said they had not been contacted so far. "Capcom would once again like to reiterate its deepest apologies for any complications or concerns caused by this incident," the company said in a statement earlier this week. "As a company that handles digital content, it is regarding this incident with the utmost seriousness. In order to prevent the reoccurrence of such an event, it will endeavour to further strengthen its management structure while pursuing legal options regarding criminal acts such as unauthorised access of its networks." According to Vice, 4GBs of data posted online appears to include information on some of the Roblox’s biggest games and creators, including email addresses, identification documents and spreadsheets related to multiple individuals. “Roblox has been actively investigating a phishing incident, which involved a Roblox employee being targeted by cyber criminals [through social engineering tactics/using highly personalized scare tactics],” Roblox told the site in a statement. A photo showing boxed white Elite Series 2 controllers was shared back in March, but nothing has been heard about them since. However, a video showing the controller by a YouTuber called Nicholas Lugo was posted in July and lay undiscovered until it was spotted on Monday by Twitter user Rebs Gaming.Subscribe to VGC on YouTube The video, which can be seen in the tweet embedded below, appears to show what is referred to as the &#8220;only white Xbox Elite in the United States&#8221; by the person recording the video. The controller appears to be authentic (though the tape on the packaging is removed too easily, implying it had already been opened), but there is no information regarding how Lugo acquired it. The Elite Series 2, which is generally only available in black (except for a limited edition Halo version), was released in November 2019. According to the platform holder, it’s “the world’s most advanced controller to date” and took four years to develop. She was recently on the second episode of "Celebrity Sluggers" featuring host Hannah Stocking. Celebrity softball veteran and star Siwa was quite excited for the show and declared that she was going to hit one out. While Siwa tried to rack up points in the "Celebrity Sluggers" field, she also got asked tough questions from Hannah on the side. Siwa got candid and spoke about her going viral for months after the MLB’s TikTok video featuring her and also how later a cat’s video got more attention. “MLB, they posted a TikTok of mine. For a few months it was the biggest thing on MLB, which was pretty cool. I think I was in my best element. Then they posted a video of some cat that ran onto the field and beat me out,” said Siwa.
